Penobscot Morning Light

One summer morning, I drove the scenic, winding roads that follow the shoreline of mid-coast Maine. Among the many beautiful sights of harbors with sparkling water and bobbing boats, fields of wildflowers and the expanse of blue ocean, there was this little red house bathed in the morning sunshine, perched above Penobscot Bay.
I pulled over, got out of my car to take a reference photo and paused to breathe in the fresh, salty air. It felt interestingly familiar - like my ancestral Maine heritage was somehow responding to the scents and sights of field, flowers and ocean all at once. I wondered what it would be like to live in such a place - to get up in the morning to the sights and sounds of the ocean and watch the activity in the bay while sipping my coffee. The morning light was beautiful, and I knew that I would capture it in this scene one day.
